What does it mean to be too young for twins?

You're 18, you're too young to be pregnant at all.

Don't listen to people who put you down for becoming a mother at 18. A mother's love for her children has no age limit. We all have the ability to love and nurture our children within us. Other people may say things to shake your confidence, and that is unfortunate. All mothers should be supported. Having and raising children is very challenging, especially with twins. Young mothers have an especially challenging road simply due to finances and because they are single most of the time. Unfortunately all the criticism directed at young mothers only makes things harder, when really, it would be nice if someone could step in and lighten that load.

I have twin one year olds and I'll tell you, you are not too young for twins. You can do this! You have age on your side. Twins take a lot of energy simply because you have to do everything twice. Now I have two toddlers to chase instead of one. When you're young you can keep up with them better. Your body will also bounce back quicker from the pregnancy. That doesn't happen as often with older moms.

I know you must be really scared right now, but you should start looking for support. No one can do this alone, even with one baby. If you don't have friends or family, or the babies' father, I would start as basic as looking up pregnancy in the yellow pages. There are resources out there to help you. I would find a twin message board also. The forums on twinstuff.com are full of great information and there are MANY young twin moms on there too, many more than I ever expected would be, in fact they are the majority! Good luck!

If twins runs in your family then it is likely you could have twins. Does not matter what age you are. If you are meant to have twins you will weather you are 18 or 30.

I'm not sure but it's A LOT of work...not to mention time and money to try to support not one baby but TWO. It's hard for older women to deal with when their married, have a good job and a house. But at 18 it can cause more problems then just a single pregnancy.

You aren't too young to conceive twins. If you are pregnant though, remember that everything happens for a reason. You will be ok!

It wouldn't be impossible. But yes you are very young to be a mother. I myself am worried that I am too young to be having a son in two months and I've got three years on you!

How do you feel about adoption? I very seriously considered it, then decided it wasn't for me. But it is a good option. I was fortunate enough to have my family's help. Do you have people who could help you?

Are you really ready to grow up right now? Are you financially stable? Do you have a good home?

Good luck. Precnancy is terrifying - especially at a young age

no... 18 is a fine age for a healthy pregnancy....psh...there's been girls having babies since they were 14.... and not that that's a good thing but i think if you take care of yourself your age wouldn't really make a difference...my husband is a twin and his mother had them at 19 yrs.....but that kind of thing runs in the family.....so if it runs in yours then u might get twins if not, the chances aren't that great...

Personally I think you are too young for 1 baby but anyway you will manage if you are expecting 2 babies age has nothing to do with it if people conceive multiple babies

it all depends, are you finanncily stable? will someone be able to take care of the babys while your at school? is this at least your secound birth? if not, then you will not be able to handle them. your first baby is hard. you will not no what to do and how to support them. doing it with twins? even harder! i would really start making a plan here. who will take care of them, where and when (if you are) im gonna work, what is my money situation............. this is a very hard and confusing situation. i wish you the best of luck.
