This isn't a question as much as it is a personal soapbox, but.... that's the nature of this category...
Ron Paul's supporters are not any more or less informed about their candidate, politics in general, or anything else than any other candidate's supporters.
There are intelligent, thoughtful and knowledgeable people who support all the different candidates. There are ignorant people who support candidates for faulty reasons, too.
It's tempting to think that your side (whatever that side may be--- Republicans, Democrats, Giuliani supporters, libertarians, Ron Paul-ites) are better, smarter, or somehow inherently superior to everyone else, but that's a foolish way to think.

You mean are they more informed about their candidate than they are about the others? Yes.
If you mean are they more informed than other candidate's supporters are, then no. You cannot say that a supporter of a particular candidate knows more or less about his candidate than any other supporter knows about his. We all have our reasons, and you can't know what they all are.
For the record, I've been following this election season since right around last February. In the beginning, I felt that Barack Obama was a candidate that I could support, and even get excited about. But as time went on, I learned more and more about each candidate by researching them, watching them on TV and online, reading press releases, news reports, and even blogs and posts on sites like this one. In all that time, my support has solidified behind one candidate, whom I believe best represents my values and can do a better job of leading this country than anyone else. That candidate is Mitt Romney.

I believe we know a hell of a lot more about not only our candidate, but also the others! We follow the good directions of our Founding Fathers to "know our enemies!" This is a Revolution! I would have to say...so far I do believe we are winning!

I think we're the only ones who don't have to take shots at other candidates, we can stand on solid ground with Dr. Paul's voting record, plan for America, and support of the Constitution.
No matter how much people dislike Ron Paul, they can't say he isn't a patriot, he is the only one who wants to do what he feels is best for America, and not some special interest corporation. No other candidate can say they put America first 100% of the time.

Ron Paul is likely the most educated candidate, so it follows that those who want to elect him are, among other things, well educated and well-informed.
People who feel he's "crazy" have probably only heard brief clips taken out of context. There are those who say he's racist because he believes all people should be seen as equal - no special treatment because of race or gender or sexual orientation, etc.
Or, when he talked about abortion on The View. He said he is, himself, pro life because you have to choose a side. If you are pro-choice, you're endorsing partial birth abortions. There just is no middle ground on the issue. It's all or nothing. But, he said, it doesn't really matter what he believes because as a Libertarian, he believes it's up to the individual to decide what they'll do - and the states should make their own laws on abortion and other issues.
But if you just heard a tiny clip of part of that you might think he's nuts. His ideas are radical - but so were those of our Founding Fathers. As a constitutionalist, he is very like they were and he depends on the constitution as his guide as opposed to votes and money.
He's a hell of a guy. Do your research and, if you are anti-Paul, you may just change your mind.

YES!
Most of the other candidates have not been involved at the federal level as long as Ron Paul {since 1976} and have not established a long term congressional voting record, that can be checked & rechecked by would be voters.
He has said and written thousands of words, that can be checked at any time on the "net".
Ron Paul has ALWAYS been open and honest about his political stances and tries his best to follow the Constitution,,,,which every candidate should be concerned with since it is the LAW!
I feel he also has kept his sense of humility,,,,,to serve the people, for all these years.
In my humble opinion, he stands head & shoulders above ALL the other candidates, when it comes to integrity!
It seems many of the candidates are trying to hide things about their past. Here is some gossip about Hillary:

He is saying what many people want to hear. That is why many people get his message. Ron Paul wants to return the country to normalcy instead of what it has become. A return of power to the states instead of this huge federal empire is much more in line with what the U.S. was years ago and what it was meant to be.

Ron Paul wants to do an awful lot of things that a President just isn't legally able to do.
Now either he knows this and has his followers buffaloed or he doesn't know it and is dumber than dirt.
Either way he's not the President we need
