I have had a 360 since its lauch and I have had to send it in to get fixed 3 times already. It is my understanding that the ones for sale now shouldn't have the overheating problem that the launch ones did due to a new motherboard. I have the money to get any of the 3 out there and my question is are the internal hardware componets all the same now or is the Elite more that just a 120 gig hard drive?

So basically I am f u c k e d either way I slice this pie. I guess that I misunderstood the units with the HMDI port had a different motherboard that didn't over heat as bad

The current Xbox 360's right now can still get the Red Ring of Death. I've heard that the Xbox 360 Halo Edition console is really the only Xbox that has the less chance of getting hardware failure. And the Xbox 360 Elites can still get the Red Ring of Death also. I've seen Youtube videos of the Elite having the Red Ring of Death.

I really don't see a reason to buy a Xbox 360 console when it has a high hardware failure rate. You should just wait until Microsoft fixes the problem 100% or just buy a PS3 if you don't already have one.

The elite offers an HDMI output as well, but if your TV doesn't support that kind of output, it is no different, except for the 120 GB harddrive.

Although, the new systems are still overheating at about the same rate. (Just letting you know.) My friend's Halo edition died out with a Red Ring of Death about a month after purchase.

You should definitely get the 360 elite. In addition to the extra 100 gigs of hard drive, it also includes a HDMI cable and a port. It also might have a faster processer.

Don't get the Elite.... its the same as the pro only more Hard drive space.... its a total waste because your never going to use a 120gb hard drive on your xbox 360..... get the pro with the 20gb drive.... then if you do fill it you can buy another 20gb or a memory card.... pls don't buy the elite.... its basically 100gb more and a different skin.... not worth it
