Have you ever given a good answer but got thumbs down on it? Did you retract your answer? Just curious...

Yes, plenty. No I didn't retract my answer... The first few times I got on here I would type something in response and then I would get 3 more so, oh well I don't really care, either they didn't read carefully or they don't like me or they just give everyone a thumbs down or everyone a thumbs down that doesn't type exactly what they want.
What does bother me is when someone ask a question (ex. our child is out of control and wife won't punish or how can I get wife to work etc..) and then they pick the answer that says to leave them. Obviously they don't want to work at it and their question should have read I want to leave my wife should I agree with me for 10 points... or something similar.

Retract my answer? lol No! I momentarily wonder why I've got a thumbs down and the ones around me haven't, and then I go on reading the rest of the answers. Why should I care if I get thumbs down? It doesn't affect anything.

ALL THE TIME! I just move on since the person just doesn't agree with me. Now when I had 4 different accounts suspended for no reason, I got mad.
Are you going to give me a thumbs down? I don't think I deserve one.

All the time. In fact, I have noticed that my best answers get thumbs down, while the worst ones get thumbs up....I just figured that the more thumbs down I get the better my answer is, and people are mad because they didn't say it first.

I always get thumbs down for nothing, and I try not to take it personally because most of the ones that thumbs down all the people are just trolls or trying to get Best Answer and they figure they will get it that way...=-)

I get thumbs down like anyone. I never retract my answer. It doesn't really affect me, I think it is funny sometimes. I just don't care.

yes i've noticed there seems to be someone who is just going down the line of answers giving everybody thumbs down no matter what the answer. it used to get to me but now it's oh well what do they know?

Happens lots of times. I ignore the thumbs down. Maybe I sometimes wonder why, but I don't do anything about it.

I ignore them, as I know from whence they came....
And then for fun... I go report 10 violations in Polls and Surveys, for every Thumbs Down I get for the day....

Absolutly. And it crushed me for the rest of my life. I became depressed and am now in thearapy, just because i got a thumbs down.....
