No if anyone in my town goes into labour its a 30 min drive to the nearest hospital. The other hospital close enough couldnt get enough funding for anymore midwifes

Alot of hospitals don't handle deliveries anymore except on an emergency basis because it's costly for the hospital so area hospitals will get together and share cost and resources to fund a "women's hospital" that does nothing but handle labor and delivery for a large area. The problem is they are so friggen far away for some people that alot of babies are being born on the highway instead. I literally passed by 5 hospitals to get to the ONE hospital that delivered babies. It's insaine!

it's free in canada (everything in the hospital is free and doctor visits are free and so on....) canada is the best! Plus you get a full year of paid maternity leave! I'm six months in... but in the us, i think the only way to get a baby delivered for free is to have the baby on your own at home (but not many poeple would actually go for this) good luck with the debate

There are two hospitals in our twin cities. One delivers babies, the other doesn't.

I live in the Columbus, OH area and all of our major hospitals deliver.

wow, I don't know where are these people are from but I have never heard of a hospital that doesn't delivery babies. I'm in Wisconsin and we have never had a problem with that. I feel sorry for those of you who do.

They don't have a delivery service that brings the baby to my home if that's what you mean.
But, yes. I think most hospitals have a labor and delivery area.
