I'm just wondering the reasons for why the name is horrible Most people say that hey don't like it but don't give a real reason why. For example, many of you say h will be teased for life, but why? I need some real reasons and constructive criticism.:)
I also am not a fan of the very traditional names for boys like Michael, Christopher, John etc. So boring...
Old fashioned names like Abigail and Charlotte are coming back for girls, so why not for boys?:)

Just to give you a sense of the names that I do and don't like, I don't like the names that are currently ppular like Hayden, Kody, Jaden, Jackson etc.
I like more unusual, but traditional names.
Thanks for your feedback!:)

It's a little old-school, bit for some reason I kinda like it. Who knows, maybe this could be the start of "Boris" becoming a popular boys name again. Plus, if it's also the name of your grandfather, there's A LOT of sentimental value added to it, so that's also worhtwhile. Give it a try!

do not name him that. Boris sounds like a Bully's name. I do respect your Grandfather but this is the 21 Century. I would never date someone named Boris. When I think of Borris,I think of
"Boris Badenov" in "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show", resulting in a faint comic connotation and Horror-movie actor
Boris Karloff.
I saw a different variant form of Boris and it is Borys.
I Like Jacob, Joshua,Luke and Noah
Best wishes

If you plan on your kid being a janitor all his life, Boris may harm his career. If you hope he is a banker, Boris may help him climb to the top but he would be miserable. Believe me, names matter. Name him John, George, Bill, Jim or any name that is common and sounds at least somewhat masculine.
Please don't name him Boris, Frances, Rufus, Tornburg, Virgil or July or anyother name like these names, for his sake.

I think it has awesome sentiment... naming him after your grandpa and all... but, Boris doesn't quite sit right today. I think that it would make a good middle name though. You could still use an uncommon first name and Boris as the middle name like Kenton Boris, Oliver Boris, Milo Boris.
I'm with you with the Hayden/Jayden/Aiden/Cody names. Blah.
Good luck!

I don't like the name Boris maybe because of the way it flows of the tongue when you say it. It also makes me think of some old Russian man (not that i have anything against old Russian men).
I am also into unusual names and hate the usual Mathew, David sort of names.
I guess it is personal preference as to what you name your son!

I'm old enough to remember actor Boris Karloff so that's the first thing I think of when I hear that name.

My grandfather is Titus. Some names just don't come back in style. Sorry. It's bad. You know, to honor someone, you don't necessarily have to give your child the actual name. I knew someone named Kanden, after her parents Candace and Ken.

Not the best name. IF you do choose to name him Boris I suggest to find a nickname before he gets made fun of for all his child hood years

Definately not for a first name people will tease him horribly bad... It would work for a middle name though.
