Yes;
Komandorski was a POW camp until the end of WW2. It then was established as a US Naval Housing compound towards the end of WW2. It was for Navy officers and enlisted housing to support families stationed at the various Naval facilities throughout the SF Bay area. My mother, father,two brothers and I lived in a three bedroom Quonset Hut from 1946 - 1949. During this time my Father had command of USS Anderson, a troop ship, transporting troops back from the Pacific and transporting occupational troops and their families to Japan, Okinawa, and the Philippians.
Komandorski started as a Russian Fur Trading settlement in the early 1800's and is now an affluent neighbor of Pleasanton California. A neighborhood who's residents incomes are in the upper 98% of USA households

My best friend lived there when I was about 5 or 6 (in the mid-70's). Looking back, those apartments must've been fairly decent sized (although I don't remember completely) but they had give kids living there so it must not have been too small. I lived in Dublin which was really close. I remember it being closer to the foothills but that was 40 years ago. I'm sure so much as changed.

I also lived there around 67 - 68. My step father was in the navy, serving in Vietnam at the time. I was in the 2nd & 3rd grade. I have several memories, but not sure where it is located. I don't remember ever leaving the village.

There was a Komandorski Village that was navy housing in Pleasanton, California in the 1950s and 1960s - I don't think it's still there.

Later: well, I searched, and there's a housing development called Komandorski Village in Dublin California, near Pleasanton. For those who remember the Navy housing, that's pretty funny.
