i really want a cellphone. i am turning fifteen in little over a week and feel that i am responsible enought to have one and help pay the bill each month. only one problem...parents. they say it's unnecessary i say it's not. they told me i could get a prepaid tracphone to text and stuff so they wouldn't have to worry about the bill and all but it would be too expensive for me considering how much i'll probably text and talk.

well, i saw a comercial for the new cricket cell phone plan. for $25 a month you get unlimited calls and texts to anyone in your area and no yearly contract...the perfect plan! not too expensive everything i want with tax only about $30/month. however they both still seemed unconvinced. i told them that i would help them with at least half each month and they wanted to know where i wud get my money cus i have no job. thats where i ran out of ideas. i usually always hav money from babysitting or whatever but still no luck with them. any suggestions?

I have a cricket phone and they are great!! You don't worry about minutes at all and the bill is the same every month! As for money. Maybe you could go out and get a part time job like at Burger King or something. Shovel snow, babysit, do extra chores around the house. But if your going to be talking and texting all the time I would absolutley go with a cricket phone. Nothing to worry about at all. And you can get phones as cheap as about 60 bucks. But it doesn't do anything special. Just talk and text. But that's all you really need anyways!!

Most parents, want their children to have a cell phone. That why they can be sure, to get in touch with them in case of an emergency. But, I can certainly understand, their concerns about it.

Tex talk, using it like a house phone, will run that bill sky high. Maybe, if you promise to follow the rules, and not text or work it let a house phone go by the minutes, that you plan allows after 7 pm and free on weekends. During the week days, you are at school, so you will see your friends there, so it will be pretty much in the evenings and on the weekend. If, you get a plan like that, it won't be so bad. Good luck and Happy Holidays.

Suggestion sweetie, Metro PCS. They are more apt to hear about that company and therefore trust it, they can pay on-line, therefore not having to be inconvenienced, you pay a month ahead and there are no surprise charges just like prepaid only you don't have to load anything (like pre-paid). I suggest printing something off of the internet to propose properly to them and tell them there is no promosing anything because if you don't pay you don't talk. There's no worrying about extra charges of any sort. It's all in the presentation AND TIMING!!! If you ask for it for a CHRISTmas present or birthday present then present them with a home-made contract that states you will be responsible and sign and date it, with the print out of all of the information, a reasonable plan as to how you would pay monthly and how if you don't you just don't talk at all, and don't badger them, just simply present and leave the materials for them telling them "this is for your review and consideration" and then leave them alone.

Trac Phonnes suck! But, there is two pre-paids and they're not bad. One is Virgin Mobile, it is one where you buy money to add to your card. Example, if you want internet you can pay a dollar for a day pass, a full 24 hours as in ifyou buy it at midnight you well get it tooken away at midnight the next night. Or you can pay for a month of internet access for only 5 bucks! Another one is Net10 which isn't bad but no internet. Hope I helped! If you want to talk about it any further email me at hallaatchaboyj@yahoo.com

well tell them from chores and babysitting. otherwise, get a job. look in your school district news letter or the american red cross. Get trained to be a lifeguard. If you'r almost 15, then you'll qualify. Pays good, rewarding but easy job, but most of all, shows you're responsible. I just passed my test yesterday and now, just waiting for the paperwork to get filled out

Well, I added a line for $9.99 for my daughter. Maybe you can tell your parents that having a phone helps know where you are. You can call them and give them updates and if they need you they can reach you. Tell them to justsee how things go for a couple of months and prove too them you are responsible.Good Luck!
