My daughter had a gift exchange at school and the limit is $10... Some of the parents did go over the limit but you get what you can afford... But personally I spent the $10 limit..... I have 3 kids to buy Christmas gifts for and I definitely can't afford to buy for everybody....

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!!!

That is a sweet gesture bex....and in that case, I think £5 for the two sounds very reasonable....I was just thinking....I only usually spend about £10 per person on my own family!

There are almost exactly 2 dollars to the pound at the moment, I think...so £5 is $10....or maybe very slightly less....I just checked.

Tell your father-in-law to take a hike - and his 'complete fit' with him. A gift is a gift. It doesn't come with attached conditions. Therefore, his gifts of money are decided by the person who receives it how they want to spend it. Namely, your boys. If they receive a money gift from him, they are to decide what they want to spend it on. That is etiquette. If your father-in-law doesn't like it, tell him to buy the boys clothes or toys instead of giving money. That way, he won't have a need to have a fit at all. Have fun at Disney!

You got 3 for £5 in Superdrug Bex, I'd spend about £5 as well, though I'd get 3 things in the 3 for 2 in Superdrug! lol

I think 5 Pounds is pretty generous, unless you have some deeper connection to them (like you take care of them, or you're good friends with your child's friend's parents).
