why is conservation considered a dirty word---seems to be fiscally responsible to me.

if i could afford a solar powered house, and electric car id buy them tomorrow, so why not invest in the technology to make that happen sooner than later?

or do you prefer your tax dollars being spent on new roads and hospitals in oil rich countries we've demolished?

The problem is people who believe that you can't be a good steward of Nature and the planet without also being a believer in global warming. The two are not the same. You can rightfully believe that Man should do everything within his power to minimize pollution...after all, from childhood we are all taught to clean up our rooms and our messes...But that doesn't mean that global warming is Man made, nor that anything we can reasonably do would make one iota of difference in cyclic climate changes that have been going on for millenia. Adapting to the realities of Nature makes much more sense.

Global warming isn't a hoax, so NO we cannot just ignore our energy usage of fossil fuels that emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

If you've got the money to invest in solar panels for your home you'll get help from the government with a rebate if you apply for it. Buy that electric car if you can afford it.

No I do not prefer U.S. tax dollars being spent on foreign countries nor the deficit.

Yesterday, I finished reading an article about the subject: Newsweek's August 13, 2007 Cover labeled it: "Global Warming Is A Hoax. * *Or so claim well-funded naysayers who still reject the overwhelming evidence of climate change. Inside the denial machine. By Sharon Begley

The article's real title within the issue is "The truth about denial." It took me a while but I finally found a link to it for you with the full-text for free. I challenge you to read it.

I also included a link challenging the truth to the article not because I believe it's a hoax but because I want to point out just how controversial this subject is.

I don't see how anyone can ignore the truth that global warming is being caused by human carelessness e.g. high levels of carbon dioxide in the environment. But the truth is that this is a very controversial issue. If you haven't watched Al Gore's film, An Inconvenient Truth, based on his book of the same title then I would recommend that you take the time to do so.

...dude its n hoax did you know general motors or GM stopped the production of electric and solar cars becuase its too cost effective to the buyer they eant you to spend all your moeny on there cars that use gas also gas cars degrade faster the electric cars consioering stress is less its no hoax..
and yes even if it were a "hoax" you still need to PROTECT the enviroment to make a solar car is install solar plates into the doors and roof and hood so that it can absorb the heat ans transfer the energy into the engine its way more money to buy and maintian a gas car have you seen gas prices and the daameg the carbon is doing our air is dirty and it diesnt help when they cut down the tree u know the ones that give us oxygen if you take chemisrty classes you'll under stad how carbon monoxide is decaying our planet and in the future going to cost you $$$ in taxes to repair the damage if you saw the movie "day after tomorrow" what happens in that movie is very capable of happening...

First of all, global warming isnt a hoax! it is 100% real! if you ignore it, you will kill so many things: polar bears and other animals that live up there, you are killing forests and you are killing future generations! Watch "An inconvinient truth" if you do not believe me! Electric cars aren't that expensive now. and you get a bonus for buying them: no gas! no gas means less polution and more money to buy that car
If you still cant afford one, try a hybrid.
If you cant afford solar, switch to "bulfrog power". if you cant do that, buy carbon ofsets (follow the links)
Hope this helps
Save the planet!

I am all for conserving energy and I do not believe in Global warming caused by human beings (based on data, by the way.) The better question is how can people who believe in global warming as caused by humans so much so that they dedicate their lives to it, and still not change their behaviors. Could it be that maybe it is a scam to earn money in a little carbon credit company?

"Global Warming" is another way of saying "terrorism". It is really about peak oil. It will get us to conserve{global warming} and fight wars for resources{terrorism}. It almost doesn't make sense to conserve,it will just prolong the inevitable, people will still be comfortable, and reproduce, and that means more people will die.

Global Warming is not a hoax, all of the evidence shows how real it is. I think we need to spend the $ to help fix it, but this should have been dealt with many years ago.
