I first thuought of either "yes" or "no," but then realized I could accomplish that by just shaking my head. So, I decided on "Thanks," because anyone that can only get their words across by pointing and gesturing would need lots of favors, and so I would surely think that would be the most appropriate response for me. Next, I would learn sign language, and make sure my dear ones did too.

sh*t
because come on, how crappy would that be? Plus if I had to ask where the toilet was, or warn someone about cow plops (I go walking in the Swiss mountains sometimes, so that does happen) it would still work.
Some days, it IS the only word I use!

I agree with Emma. F*ck is definitely the most widely applicable word in my vocabulary.

I think the word would have to be F**K...
I could use it to express
Surprise
Anger
disapointment
and proposition people as well!

smurf.
Hopefully I'd be allowed to use variations of the word, such smurffy, smurfulous and unsmurfed.
And of course, connotation will be very important.
I think I could get along quited smurfily.

Smurf. Or maybe Dakine. Both are pretty versatile.
