PC keeps rebooting. I have tried all the options like safe mode, normal mode, boot to windows, system recovery disc, etc. It just keeps rebooting. Tried F2 key and F8 key. No luck. Help PLEASE!!

when you boot in safe mode it just goes back to restarting

this is at startup can't be over heating it never warms up . it never goes as far as the green line going across once.then back to start up. i could get as far as windows then i could do scans or system restore. This is an acer laptop hope this helps . im guessing it is a virusor trojan and loking nfor a work around so i can run all the tests before taking it in to the shop . Help Please (:>))

took it in to shop is hard drive - holiday day season - 7 day wait 95.00 - not bad thank everyone for the help

Hi. You may have to install a temporary new hard drive and reinstall your OS on that. Install and set to old drive to 'Slave' and copy any files you want, then format the old drive. There may be other better answers.

You may have a corrupt boot sector or a boot virus on the hard drive.

If Windows XP boot with it, choose R (recovery)
It will ask for which drive, normally C: or 1 press enter.

You will be at the command prompt;
Type : fixmbr , then press enter, answer yes
then Type: fixboot, press enter, answer yes

Finally type : exit

The computer will reboot, make sure the cd is removed before it boots back up

You shouldn't have to reformat.

May have to boot in SAFE MODE
►Control Panel
►System Properties
►Setup & Recovery
►Settings
►Clear the Auto Restart Box

Then RUN chkdsk /f

It most likely, your CPU overheating. Check to be sure the fan is pinning, and the heatsink is securely attached to the CPU socket.
