My parents aren't very religious. They only celebrate Christmas mostly for presents and family time. I can understand that. The thing is they want me to stay the night. Most people that may not seem like a problem, but at my parents it constutes as sleeping on the floor, sometimes they will give us a mattress but most of the time they give us dirty sheets. This may not sound like a problem but they have an extra bed they refuse to let us use. My nephew will be over for the holiday also and my mom has bought him $200 worth of gifts, his parents have bought him $250 worth, and we also got him about $50 dollars worth. So he will be getting a lot of gifts, my daughter however will only be getting the $50 worth that my husband and I bought her. I know that Christmas is about Christ and I don't care about presents, but at the same time I don't think it fair to take my daughter over to their house to watch him open presents, and her not have very many. Heyyou21 I understand what you are saying, we didn't find out about the gift situation till today, we thought that we should be fair with our daughter and my nephew. But like they say "live and you learn"

I think that you should go for a short while on Christmas, but try not spend the night. Say that you have some other engagements.

You are giving your daughter and your nephew the same amount of money??? spoil your daughter a little bit more. I think your nephew already has enough invested in his gifts.
