Yes!! It is awful in the middle of the night, and you are trying to keep your eyes closed so you will be able to fall right back to sleep when you are done peeing.Once your bu*t hits the water, you jump up with a start and no longer feel like going back to bed!

Once when I was married, I got up to go the bathroom during the night. I went to sit down and of course I was half asleep, and boy did I get a shock, when I hit the water. Then I started laughing so hard ROTFLMAO. I woke my then husband up, he said what's wrong. And I told him. Then he started laughing uncontrollably, This continued for quite a while. It was a quite cold shock to say the least.
Now that I live alone, that doesn't happen anymore.

Only a couple of times when my husband didn't put the seat back down. With 3 females in the house he learned rather quickly that if you don't put the seat back down you're gonna hear about it!

I don't have the problem 'cause there are no men in the house! LOL
BUT what I HAVE done is close the top lid, forget I did that, wake up in the middle of the night and stumble to the bathroom and sit down on a closed lid! [yep...I did that!] LOL

When I was training to be a maid I got more whacks with the cane or riding crop for leaving the seat up than any other fault

Yes! Cold innit? Once when I was a student, we put cling film on the toilet as a joke. I leave it up to you to imagine the rest!

I have sat down when someone else forgot to put it down. Now we are all required to close it and all have to lift something to go. Only fair way with both sexes in the house.

I've had that happen in the middle of the night when I don't turn on the light. Woooo, that wakes you up fast!
