I am going on my very first snowboarding trip tomorrow. What should I wear?

I have heard a lot of different things from people on this. I was told to wear swishy pants or snow pants because I will be falling a lot. I was also told that I shouldn't wear a cotton sweater? So yeah if someone could tell me what I should wear for tomorow, I'd love you to bits.

Outer Layer: Jacket and Pants - get the best ones you can afford like Burton or North Face. Get pants that have double layer reinforced seat and knees if possible and a jacket without insulation that you can wear even if it is warm.

Base Layer: It is best NOT to wear cotton against your skin. If it gets wet, it will stay wet and you will be miserable. Synthetic medium weight long underwear is good for all but the very coldest days. Even nylons on the bottom will add a little extra warmth and keep the moisture away from your skin. Patagonia is best, but there are dozens of good brands - Doufold, Hot Chilis, etc.

Mid Layer: You will only need if it is very cold - a fleece under your jacket will do, a cotton hoodie will also work but isn't as good.

Gloves: You either need a pair of really good GoreTex gloves which will keep your hands dry or two pairs of lesser gloves. Look for a high "gauntlet" (the top) and really strong fabric - North Face, Burton, Dakine, etc.

Hat or better yet, a helmet.

If you have all of these, you can wear some / all depending on the conditions and you will be comfortable.

Where clothing that is warm, but yet waterproof. Ski pants or overalls are perfect for this. Also, wear a turtle neck that will cover your skin so snow or the wind does not get in. I would also wear something that does not irritate or itch the skin since you will be in the same gear all day. where beanie, gloves, scarf and sunglasses or eye protection because of sun at high altitude and safety.

Well, any type of snowpants are good, but get softer ones so it wont hurt as much when you fall, also buy a good winter jacket, I have a north face, the best jacket, and it keeps you warm, go to like macys, or any department stores, they'll probably have a good sale goin on so you can buy anything for a cheap price. Wear under armour under a fleece sweater or jacket, also, wear gloves obviously so your hands wont like get scratched up and so you can keep it warm. Thick but not to thick socks. Dont get thick thick ones cause itll cut off your blood circulations and make it colder. A helmet of course to protect that head, and goggles to protect your eyes.
