i cant be leive that hello world doesnt' know what "i'm going out to walk the dog" means. WOW!

I use that and I don't have a dog but I say I'm walking my in-laws dog.... or I just say I'm washing my hair!

To answer your question.....I suppose it could probably let you out of some things....but probably not others. It would depend on the situation....and the person asking the favour.
