I will be looking to book my holiday for next year soon. I am thinking of going somewhere in America that tourists don't usually go. Can anyone suggest anywhere, or if not, where else in the world would be nice?

New Mexico in August will be HOT ! Since I'm in California, I am prejudiced to here.

There are mountains, the Pacific Ocean for miles. Death Valley is the lowest and one of the hottest places in the US and not far is one of the highest in North America.

There are tourist type things to do but lots of places to hide from them. There's Gold Country and farming in the Valley. There are big cities and little towns. Baseball will be getting to the end it will be exciting and Calif. has 5 major league teams.

And I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the US... Santa Barbara.

Have a fine day and a Happy Christmas.

;+))

And Arnold is our Governor !

Hi Shan, How about South Dakota? Depending on what city you choose, you can visit places like Mt. Rushmore, The Black Hills (Deadwood, SD), Bear Country (but stay in your car!, Rapid City, SD), and in DeMet, SD, Laura Ingalls homestead (from Little House on The Prairie). That is if you like western stuff. New Mexico sounds nice too!!!! Wish I could go.

My favorite place outside of the US is Ireland. It seems to be gaining popularity among tourists, but still is not "touristy". It's a very beautiful, mystical country. If you think it looks green in pictures, wait til you see it for yourself! There are gorgeous green rolling hills, a million stone fences, beautiful stone and stucco cottages with thatched roofs (lace curtains and flower boxes in every window!), brightly painted doors, etc. The music is lovely and enchanting, the people very friendly. The coastline is stunning, and the Cliffs of Moher are not to be missed!

Come to Utah! The weather is similar to New Mexico, but maybe a bit cooler. There are many fabulous canyons and national parks. The mountains here are stunning, the people are friendly and there is something for everyone. You could even visit me!

tourists don't go to Nebraska ! you will be bored to tears. Nothing there but cattle , horses, pigs and crops. Also it's a long drive to the beach ! Avoid Iraq for a while ,not exactally tourist friendly .Palma is really nice, but always full of tourists. Now your down to throwing darts at the map.

You have so many incredible places to visit in America. You don't really need to leave home.

Otherwise, try Mauritius, it's a beautiful Island,, all the people are lovely and friendly, and it is i the Indian Ocean. August is nice and mild there.

Or, I would go for Ireland, one of my favourites also.
