The Wii is very, very fun. It may not be multifunctioned for CDs or DVDs, but it's focus is on games, and games are very fun.
The motion control is SAWEEEET. It's so fun, you'll have a hard time touching your GameCube controller again.
And as for games, go for ones published by Nintendo. Their games are the best ones.

Its really fun. Its a console that the whole family can enjoy. A few good games are The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy. If you are looking for multi player, then Mario Party 8 should be good.

I have only seen it played by my two nephews. It sure looks like fun. For me, the baseball and bowling would be the most fun.
