Is it normal to have really bad nausea before your period/the first day? I haven't really had this problem until the last few months, but it is starting to get out of hand. Does anyone else have this problem/what can I do to not feel this way? Any help is appreciated--dry heaving on the way to class/in lecture is just not cute! Thanks!

I've talked to a lot of women on this subject and most say it's not all that unusual for them. A lot say drinking peppermint tea helps with their nausea. You could try antacids like Tums or Rolaids too, some ger relief with that. Good luck, hope your tummy is feeling better soon!

Yes, I've had problems with nausea in the day or two before my periods.

I would let the doctor know what's going on so that they can evaluate the situation further to see what they think may be going on.

Something I did find that can be helpful for nausea is drinking tea made from fresh ginger. Ask your doctor if it's ok to do the ginger tea.

If they say ok here's how to make the tea. Boil some water in either a pot or a coffeepot for a few minutes and then cut a couple pieces from the fresh ginger root (you can find it in the supermarket or at an International store such as an Asian market). Let it boil for a few more minutes, and then after that put in to a cup. Then let it cool for a minute and then slowly start to drink.

Ginger is good for helping GI (gastrointestinal) upset such as this.

Sure, it can happen. See your GYN, he/she may have a solution for you.
