We have a big meal on both days. Lots of turkey and ham. I better dig out the fat pants.

I always liked to do a big meal for both, but whereas Christmas Day has always been pretty traditional (turkey or ham and all the usual fixings), I started a tradition with my kids when they were young in which they got to pick whatever they wanted for Christmas Eve dinner. Between the two of them, some of the combinations did not seem very likely, but it was always good and definitely fun. The favorites were quiche, lasagna, and trifle, but the one that they came to expect every year was "Toad in the Hole". This is an English dish kind of like pigs-in-blankets. You put a layer of cooked sausage links in an oiled baking dish and pour over a batter. It bakes in and around the sausages, so they are kind of a surprise when you cut into a wedge.

There is no traditional dinner, but our Christmas Day dinner
is often a roast. So that no one is in the kitchen for long. The
roast cooks for less time than a turkey, and we can make
sandwiches for a day or two after.
I'd just as soon have chicken for the day of Christmas. But
my hubby isn't a chicken or turkey lover.
Christmas Eve has the tradition for several years now,
seeing us making New England clam chowder with garlic
bread with garlic butter and heated in the toaster oven til
the butter on the bread needs smearing when it softens.
One of my uncles started this with his family, and it caught
on with the rest of us in our own homes. Now I am the only
one to make it in the family now. It's a nice thing to make
when people open their gifts on Christmas eve, and there
is very little mess to clean up before the gift opening. There
is only the soup pot and the soup bowls. So we can wait
until later, if we want to do so.

We've always had the festivities on Christmas day. Christmas Eve is for church and caroling, and then coming back home for hot spiced cider and home-made doughnuts. Get the kids to bed and relax a bit before we pull out Santa's presents to put under the tree!

Both.

My kids are spending Christmas Eve with me and am having Cornish Game hens.

On Christmas Day, it'll be Spiral ham and vegetarian lasagna as I'm having friends over for a potluck .... Bring a side dish and a six pack.

I have it whenever I can get everyone together. I had Thanksgiving and the in-laws have them for Christmas this year but it looks like I might get to have them after all !!!!!! I am having pork tenderloin roast. I bought one because i thought they wouldn't be here so I went and bought another one this week so I can bake two. I'll have mashed potatoes, gravy and dressing with it and homemade noodles, some candied yams, green bean casserole and some peas, crescents and whatever else they bring to go with it. Spell check won't spell croissants for me right. Oh, I just did !!!! lol

My wife does all the cooking. I also believe there are fairies in my house. Things get tidied up, clothes washed and ironed and recently I saw a light bulb needed changing..before I could
get round to fixing it..it changed itself.
Seriously...goose and ham..and whatever that nice smell is coming from the kitchen.Happy Christmas.

Christmas day doing ham, and friends are bringing side dishes. Some of the above descriptions sound divine. Have a great Yuletide season.
