First make sure your speakers are plugged in, turned on (if applicable), and the volume is turned up.
Then go into the Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices.
Under the audio tab, make sure the correct devices are present in the drop down list for playback device. The devices will most likely be the sound card that came installed in your PC, unless you have a removable audio card present.
Under the volume tab, make sure MUTE is not selected. Make sure your speaker settings are set up normally for your hardware.
You can also troubleshoot the (sound card) device under the hardware tab.

Take it back to where you got it.
A PC is not unlike any other thing you may purchase.
If it does not work, take it back.
Demand they make it work, replace it with a working model, or give your money back.
I hope this helps
