Hey Persian Cat! You can easily answer your question by comparing the situation here in the US with the political scene in Mexico. Would you like to see Mexico free form the ruling oligarchy that has run it for the past 500 years or continue with electing those whom they approve, including "El Peje". Our oligarchy is represented by the multinationals and big oil. Bush didn't kidnap democracy, they did and it was done along about 1948 or so. Democracy in this country cannot be regained without a "regime change", as you put it, just as Mexico will never have democracy without getting rid of the oligarchy.
