no one has control over dreams.
a dream is a bundle of previous thoughts and events of the day,week,month even year,that come out of the back of your mind when your sleeping,sense the thought could have originally occurred so long ago,that's why sometimes we can't remember what our dream was about.

Tell him exactly what you want him to think of over and over all day, every day. Eventually, he'll probably dream it.

I think you mean "they are". Anyway, you can't. You might try talking about it before he sleeps or as he sleeps but there's no guarantee. You can always just to talk to him and let him know your feelings. That's more likely to work.

When he's asleep, get very close to his ear and tell him what you want him to think over and over... " a monster is chasing you", etc. etc....
