Verses letting him continue down the path of dictatorship?

There are plenty of points in at least 4 Acts that have been passed since he has been in office which literally give him unlimited power to do what HE wants to Americans. I am not making this up, it is in the government papers for everyone to see...but I am not going to list them because, although it backs my question, it is not what the question is ultimately about.

It is about what makes a patriot and what doesn't.

Nota...The President puts write-in comments which should only be how the bill is done..but Bush has added points and changed the full bill totally...in the process totally bypassing the Constitution.

Not unless you're a Republican, then you're just supposed to blindly support anything president does because he's the president. On a side note, that same way of thinking will not apply when it's Dem president. They won't blindly support a Dem president because "he/she is the president".

Who would have thought 5 years ago we would have "Americans" defending and supporting state sponsored torture and outing of CIA agents? What the hell is wrong with these people?

Listen "notadummy" - you're a dummy. The president writes up Executive Orders all the time and they are LAWS.

Yes it is very unpatriotic. The Declaration of Independence makes it clear that it is our RIGHT and DUTY to overthrow any parts of government that become despotic in nature.

Yes, we are a nation of laws, not men. All public servants take an oath requiring them to uphold and obey our laws, and neglecting that oath is malfeasance of office, if not conspiracy to violate those laws. Patriotism is fine, but public servants are also PAID to implement our laws, whether or not they feel personally inspired to do so.

Yes, it is unpatriotic. And shame on the other two branches of gov't, in particular. Opposing the executive is one of their most important duties. (And that includes those from his own party)

He is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces and he is bound by the constitution to defend this country. That's what he is doing.

Congress writes the laws not the president. You can't be a "patriot" if you don't even know how your own government works.

It would. Bullshit should be held by the constitution's limitations.
