"i cant get avg off my add/remove programes i unninstalled it but its still there and i get an error msg every time i boot up"

run msconfig from "start" - "run" then disable it from services ok!

what does the error say? whatever avg is might have been being used by another program, now the other program is confused basically.... it needed "avg" to run... now that avg is gone but it isnt, it cant do what it needs to

Reinstall and then uninstall. If that does not work, you may need to reinstall for a third time and then run your machine in safeboot mode and then uninstall.
I think this is a one-off, I've had this software before and never had any problems removing it. So, it's just a glitch, don't sweat it.
