When he is around me or his friends he stutters less and around new people he stutters more how could he improve?

Anxiety makes his stutter worse, so he needs to take deep breaths and speak more slowly and carefully when he meets new people.
Speech therapy could help him to lose it altogetrher.

by getting used to being around people can help him,but he has to get to the root of his problem,you know what causes his stuttering is that he is shy and he unconsciously his stuttering is a nervous reaction,so he must overcome his shyness to stop stuttering.
hope he improves.

He is nervous as a child he probably never learned to socialize with people around him. He gets tounge tied and has no idea what to say around new people. But you as his closest friend should teach him How to socialize and not stutter

He might just need a confidence boost, so when he's with new people it's not such and occuring thing, and speech therapy could help a lot too.

He needs reassurance and to relax. I know it must be hard for him to not be self-conscience of it; but it is what it is and he has to just let it be a part of him and accept it.
