Ian Astbury (vocals, songwriter) and Billy Duffy (lead guitar, songwriter) have been doing it since 1983 (Death Cult) with a long list of revolving door bandmates. Their breakthrough was the 1987 album Love, which got heavy MTV rotation for She Sells Sanctuary, as well as the single Rain which was used in an Italian horror film. I believe their best-known single is the 1988 hit Love Removal Machine.

They were too drunk to remain together as of 1995, but slowly put it back together starting in 2002 and officially reunited in 2006. The new album Born Into This came out in 2007.

Ian Astbury is a staunch follower of American Indian lifestyle and history. Kid Chaos left the band to form one of my favorite all-time hard-rockin' short-time bands, The Four Horsemen.

5. Dreamtime
6. Firewoman
