Is there a simple and fast way to clean walls without painting them over or calling a contractor?
I have walls that get dirty easily and they are really filthy how can I get the stains off with a quick remedy somehow?

After applying thousands of gallons of paint, I'm going with the TSP, although the young lady suggesting OXY gave you a good answer.

Without knowing at all WHAT the "dirty" might have been caused by, it will still take some effort. Even to repiant the walls should be cleaned first if discolored from Cooking or Nicotine.

AND then, without knowing if this is your Home, or a rental apt. there may likely be another issue.

Most high density housing units are Sprayed, or brushed and rolled with FLAT paint, unless a rentor asks for and pays for other options. FLAT is the most porous, most difficult finish to clean and/or keep clean. SATIN would be my choice, everytime.

To remove spots on the wall, use an art gum eraser which can be bought at an art or office supply store or make a paste of baking soda and water
For ink/marker - rubbing alcohol
Crayon - WD-40

(the art gum eraser works the best for finger prints, etc)

To wash walls in general u could use either:
1) one cup of boras (in detergent section at store) + 2 tbps of dishwashing liquid + 3.4 litres of water
2) one cup amonia, 1 tsp dishwashing liquid, and 3.5 liters of water
-- have one bucket for cleaner and a bucket with plain water to rinse the solution from the wall

***put it on the cloth, not on the wall, and test on a small unnoticable place like close to the floor first

To avoid walls getting too bad, try to have a regular cleaning schedule for the walls, or take the eraser around and erase smudges as you're on the telephone or wating for the kettle to boil, etc

I just flipped one of my rentals and the walls were covered in think yellow stain from cigarette smoking. We, of course, repainted but the yellow bled through. So I decided to try putting some oxi-clean in a spray bottle with hot water and spraying it down. It worked almost instantly and so well that we decided not to paint the room I tested my little theory in. I love that stuff...great in a carpet shampooer too.
