It depends what you are talking about. On some fields they mow grass in a certain direction while in some sports they use a special sports spray for white lines.
OR of course, artificial turd with pre made designs...

They have magical grass seeds that they plant for real grass fields. They grow a certain color. Those poor groundskeepers spend a long time getting it right.
For artificial turf.....they manufacture it with the designs incorporated.

yeah most ppl r on the right track but its either mowed in that way similar to designs on a baseball diamond or outfield or they use a chalker or sprayer like with the baseball lines and then thats pressed down with a roller to keep it on the grass throughout play.. for turf its simply sprayed on almost like spray paint

they let the grass grow for a while and the they cut the design they want on to the grass.

Actually, most teams now play on field turf, not grass so the logo is sewn in.

I think they must draw the design out on the pitch first and then paint, spray it. Otherwise, it could be some sort of hologram

It's all in how you mow the field. You can put designs in with the mower when you mow in certain directions.

for grass fields they use a kind of chalk they use on baseball fields then for the artificial turf they can get certain colors of it
