1. We bought this xbox 360 in Christmas 2005. It was left broken for a while and my brother sent it back once then it broke again. (this is the old firmware). We called Microsoft so that we can get another one but they said since we bought the warranty with toys r us that we can only send it back with toys r us and i STILL dont get it because i thought we automatically get a warranty with microsoft. Then they boosted it another 2 years so i should be good through 2008, right?

2. I sent it in when I called toys r us and they sent it back...BROKEN! The same exact way we sent it in. Yea, it had me thinkin WTF too. Now i dont know whether to call Microsoft again or Toys R Us.

This is why I won't buy Microsoft again as far as gaming consoles go. I hate Microsoft and their piss poor customer service.

Is the problem due to the "red ring of death"? If so, you're covered under Microsoft's warranty for 3 years. If this is the case, just call up Microsoft and they will send you a box to put the 360 in and to ship for free via UPS. I got mine back within a week.

If the problem is something else other than the red ring of death, I would advise calling Toys R Us and telling them that the product was shipped back to you broken. If it is in the same condition as when you sent it, chances are Toys R Us did not even send it to Microsoft to fix. If you paid extra for the warranty at Toys R Us, they need to stand by their warranty. Go to the store and complain to the manager of the video games department. I'd also take pictures of the 360 before giving it to them and document everything. If they still don't manage to fix it properly, contact corporate and go to RipOffReport.com and file a complaint about your situation. Believe me, companies will do what they can to please the customer, because they know that word-of-mouth can be very damaging.

If it's a Red Ring of Death, it should be covered under the Microsoft. Otherwise, it's not covered under the manufacturer's warranty after 1 year.

The extended warranty you bought from Toys R Us has NOTHING to do with microsoft.

xbox is a really cool console to play but it breaks to often. i think you should call microsoft and tell them that you took it to toys r us to get repaired under warranty and got it back with nothing fixed hopefully they will tell you to bring it directly to them if not they will tell u to take it back to toys r us and u gotta tell them wtf it was supposed to be fixed when i brought it in the first time. i bought a xbox b4 and i got this e74 error i dindt even bother getting it fixed i just got me a new 360 core console its the same as the regular console but the controlers arent wireless so its cheaper i already have wireless controlers from my old 360 that doesnt work cuz of the e74 error that comes on the screen whenever i turn it on.
