A is 40%
B is 40%
C is 20 %

(note that these numbers are grades) A=90 B=90 and C=95

what would the grade be in percentage

40% of 90 is 36
20% of 95 is 19

to get the grade just add
36 + 36 + 19 = 91

40% of 90 + 40% of 90 + 20% of 95
= (36 + 36 + 19) / (90 + 90 + 95)
= 91 / 275
= 33.0909%

.4*90% + .4*90% + .2*95% =
36% + 36% + 19% = 91%

if all 3 tests have equal weighting

the average grade is 33.3 %

you get that by adding the numbers and dividing by 3
