My 2007 Norton Security has expired and I upgraded to 2008.?

Question

During installation it did not ask for product key and did load, but now 2008 is expired. What did I do wrong and what should I do?

I have already fully uninstalled 2007. Even ran symantic clean-up utility.

I think that you are going to be very surprised as what I am going to tell you. Nortons is pure garbage and being a beta tester for just about every antivirus/antispyware I can tell you that you only think that you have removed Nortons/Symantec.

Go to your tray, start, run and type in: c://program files, and click on browse, open program files and look at all your files and you will still see Nortons there. Try and delete the file if you can, If it say being used by another file, or wirte protected reboot and perform the same task again should delete this time.

Now go to start, search and type in: Nortons and let your PC scan for all related files, and start to delete them from top to the bottom. Go back and type in serach: Symantec and let your PC search, delete all related files for Symantec.

Now go to start, run and type in regedit, this will open you registry. Open HKEY CURRENT USER, OPEN SOFTWARE AND LOOK DOWN THE LIST OF REGISTRY KEYS FOR NORTONS AND SYMANTEC.

PLEASE TAKE GREAT CARE NOT TO DELETE ANY KEY NOT RELATED TO NORTONS OR SYMANTEC, OR YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF HAVING TO REINSTALL YOUR PLATFORM.

Nortons is well known to leave over 375 fragments, glued to your registry, files/folders and subsystem. And will cause serious conflict to your system.
