Trying to find an old friend from Japan?

I'm trying to find an old friend from Japan. I only have her name and an old address. Is there any way I can find her email?

from my experience, no you probably cant for the following reasons....
1. many people use two or three addresses (portable phone, home,etc. and use clever names rather than their real names or part of their real names.

2. many people are worried about privacy and because of recent privacy laws in Japan, lots of info about people is not easily available.

However you said you have an old address? Is it a house? Dormitory? Apartment? You really should try writing and see what happens.

If you know this persons name (especially family name) and where they are from, you might try and get someone to look up their family name in the "white pages".

Its not impossible to find the person your looking for....but you have to decide how much work your willing to put into it. Just a quick check on the net wont work.
