Iv got a dell laptop with xp. It was working just this morning but then i went and swiched a few hardware pices and now when i go to boot up it gos to the boot up screen that says windows xp but the progress bar dose not move or even start to show. I put in the xp disk to try and recover/fix it but i went straight to a screen that said stuff about normal, safe mode, stuff like that.

If all else fail, try the XP self repair feature. It is just like a fresh XP installation but takes a shorter time to do and keeps ALL your files INTACT.

Try a safe boot and uninstall the hardware and associated software that precipitated the problem.

if it does it over and over again you have to get a new computer
