Some people are just like that. However, there's bound to be something bad about them.
The cause may be genetics, environment, a combination of the two, just some accident of who they are. There are so many sources for many of these traits.

Could be a border line savant which some consider a genetic defect but I think unique is a better description for a savant.

Otherwise they are just gifted.
