Is there anywhere on the internet where you can ask a survey question and have 10,000 people answer it?

I would like to do a survey asking people what was the main reason for needing food stamps (loss of job, disability, divorce, etc.), and I was wondering if there is a site on the internet that would do this?

I don't know about a site, but maybe you can use sites like Y! answers, my space, black planet, migente and downelink etc. Create a simple web page and post your question, leave an email adress that is specifically for this research. I am not sure you will get 10,000 answers but you may reach a wider audience.

Well, most people just make a well-programmed poll with pretty designs and then post it over as many sites as possible, but, of course, it takes money to do so. If you do not want to go through this trouble, try writing a letter to the Census Bureau, persuading them to use your question in a poll.

sure right here. there are market research firms that conduct online surveys, but you'd have to pay, and this medium is free. but you aren't going to get 10,000 replies no matter what you do, nor do you need that many to have reliable and projectable answers.

there is not a site that you can specifically do it that i know of
you could just ask people that question on yahoo answers and you would probably get a few answers

food stamps are for disability or unemployment, or college students......but you have to be 18 or older.
