You sound like you need a hug so here goes "O" It can sometimes be difficult to find beauty in this world. The world it self is very beautiful. Just look at the snow covered mountains, a mountain stream, wild flowers blooming by the road, the ocean, really all of nature.etc. It is the people in the world and their actions that takes the beauty away. But there are good people everywhere, keep looking.

You can and will find both the ugly and the beautiful in this world wherever you look, and it depends what you are looking for as to what you will see. It is normal for people who have been hurt badly to see just the ugly.....when you have gone through the stages of greiving, you will be able to see the beautiful again. Right now, you probably can't think of one thing to be thankful for. It's pointless to try to show you "something beautiful".....beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What I think is beautiful may not be beautiful to you. Go back in your mind to the last time you were happy or saw something beautiful in someone or something.....write it down. Then try to go back to a time previous to that.....write it down. Go as far back as you can remember. Let yourself relive those experiences every time your life looks hopeless or you need a glimpse of beauty. Examine them closely. Can you you do anything at present to see that beauty again, to feel it again, can you make it happen again? If the answer is yes, then try your best to do so. If the answer is no, or if you can't remember the last time you saw beauty in anything or anyone, write down what constitutes "beautiful" to you....what you would like to see, feel, experience. Then ask yourself what you would have to do to give it a chance to happen. Sometimes all it takes is "looking out of a different window" to get a different view of the world....and mental change if not a physical one. In your stage of "hurt", it will take some effort and diligence to look for the beautiful, to find something to be thankful for, but the more you do it, the easier it will be. The most beautiful thing I can think of is that God loves you.....regardless of what may have happened to you. He's still there for you.....and he's beautiful beyond words.

You gave your heart to another person, you risked to love deeply and put your heart into the outside world. Then the other person rejected your love, and now your heart is broken. You know your heart is broken because you feel such deep pain.
Something beautiful about this is that you could not feel this way if you didn't have a BIG HEART. I want you to know that you are alive, your heart is beating and while one things ends - it always is a transition - opening the door for a new beginning. In times like these, one should not deny one's feelings, but rather to acklowdege them and allow integration and to let go of the past. It's okay to hurt, but know this too shall pass.
I want you to see something beautiful. You can do it like this. Step outside into nature, then just stand there and gaze at what you see, whatever it is. Don't think about your pain or anything at all, just gaze at what is happening all around you outside. Then also feel that your heart is beating, know you are alive as you simply look around.

there isn't anything beautiful in the world. that is a learned concept.
What has been hurt? The idea of 'you' has been offended or rejected and that brings feelings of disappointment and anger which result in depressive thinking.
Who knows 'you'? You are the one that created this idea. You would wish that you had presented it in a way that was equal to your fantasy of it. Maybe you let go of that for a minute and revealed that you are a gentle, curious, playful creature like everyone else and that was not what the 'other' was fantasizing 'you' would be. Fortunately, under all the 'make believe' of creating a 'you' that other person is the same as you. Just as I am. We are all the same life. What seems to hurt is that the 'make believe' idea of 'you' was not held in as high esteem as you hoped. That hurt isn't real. It's as pretend as the idea of 'you'. Stop imagining things that make you remember or reenact this 'suffering'. It is that experience of 'sorrow' that you are now getting gratification from. That too will grow old.

Sounds like your pretty depressed. If it's just a bad day thing I would suggest calling some friends and doing something you love...maybe hit the bars or have an icecream filled move night. But if you find yourself feeling like this a lot, let me tell you what I found helpful. If it's winter where you are you may not be getting enough sun exposure, which can cause depression. One solution (my personal favorite) is to use full spectrum light bulbs. This type of light gives you some of what you are missing by the decrease sun amount. And of course if you find yourself seriously depressed there is always professional help. Anyways hope one of those ideas help.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you don't see any beauty it's because you're turning away from it. It's there for you to see if you want to.
Think about what things were beautiful before you were hurt.
You're letting the thing that hurt you turn you away from beauty. If you can't change the circumstances that hurt you, you can change your attitude to it.
Sorry for being a bit matter of fact but I think you can see beauty if you would only let yourself.
Best of luck.

You might ask in the meantime what is beauty - and why is it not visible to me right now, and anymore - or is that this world has really become devoid of all its beauty, to become an ugly place to be in? I might assume that beauty is there in the world, and thereupon, I might set out to search for it. I might go to my family, my friends, and all my acquaintances, to places known to make me happy in the past. I might try to relive all the past happy experiences, again and again, listen to old-time favourites songs, watch old movies, and walk along old memory lanes. But all this just to realise that there is nothing is the same way any more; to see something; nothing to satiate the hunger of my eyes. There is nothing where there should be at least something bright and warm. Something to kindle a ray hope in my heart; something to illuminate my mind once more are until it started scintillating with brilliance. But there seem to be nothing for me anymore. The world is the same, but I think I have changed. My aspirations, my wishes, my hope and dreams are all new and unknown. The innocence that once was captured in my concept of beauty, the way little girls capture butterflies within the gentle clasp of their tiny hands has flow away and perhaps perished among out of season flowerbeds. I see no beauty but only the absence of beauty that is everywhere around me. As there is nothing more startling to the eyes, not even beauty, than the absence of it. I myself think about it, until the absence, the voids starts take new forms, until my chelas is once again filled with new measures beauty and hope. I gaze upon the voids with hope and courage.

There is so much natural beauty in the world. Today I went on a hike in Wiltshire across Savernake Forest; it wasn't pretty and green because it is Winter but the starkness of the season allowed the beauty of the bare branches to gel with the mist into a sort of grey paradise; a Buzzard hunted silently, flying from tree to tree. From there up to one of Wiltshire's weirdest shaped hills Martinsell Hill enveloped in freezing fog; hoar frost hanging on the trees like an image from a mystical Christmas card.................

A new born baby, a child who is in remission from cancer, a couple who's tried for years to get pregnant - finally does. There's lots of beauty in this world, just open your eyes and see. The pain will lessen with time, I promise. It may not seem like it now, but things WILL get better.

Seriously? The very imperfections of this world is what makes it beautiful.
Maybe everything would be easier to see if you were in a dark room for about a week and then you came out for a journey around the world: through the cities, mountains, gardens, towers.
Everything is amazing and beautiful.
