If you never heard this song, you are in for a real treat!!!

You will love it! Try to hear it most of the way through. I think it is worth absorbing the meaning.

Here is the song "Torn Between Two Lovers"!, on You Tube, sung by Mary MacGregor...

There are times when a woman has to say what's on her mind
Even though she knows how much it's gonna hurt
Before I say another word let me tell you I love you
Let me hold you close and say these words as gently as I can

There's been another man that I've needed and I've loved
But that doesn't mean I love you less
And he knows you can't possess me and he knows he never will
There's just this empty place inside of me that only he can fill

CHORUS
Torn between two lovers, feelin' like a fool
Lovin' both of you is breakin' all the rules
Torn between two lovers, feelin' like a fool
Lovin' you both is breakin' all the rules

You mustn't think you've failed me just because there's someone else
You were the first real love I ever had
And all the things I ever said, I swear they still are true
For no one else can have the part of me I gave to you

I couldn't really blame you if you turned and walked away
But with everything I feel inside, I'm asking ..."

I can tell you something funny about that song.

My Aunt was getting married a few years ago and they were going to play a song off of a tape. She had it preset to the song she wanted but the person putting it in the player put the wrong side of the tape in.

Guess what song was on the other side of the tape?
"Torn Between Two Lovers"

Those were the first words that came over the speakers. Needless to say the bride and groom had a very strange look on their faces. Everyone else got a big laugh out of it.

I remember the song well, but I never had my heart torn in two like that. I didn't really have any serious relationships until I met my future husband.

I am torn daily between eating too much food and staying fit. Does that count?

No, that's such a whiny, wimpy song. I hate it. It was so overplayed by radio stations when it first came out!

I've always loved that song.
I never knew it was a one-hit-wonder, though.
