Well, The 4400 got pretty bad after the pilot episode so I suppose they didn't feel the need to spend millions on a crappy show no one was watching.

I'd wager something similar happened with The Dead Zone.

Not all shows finish a season knowing they aren't coming back. Each season, networks will evaluate their programming and decide what should go into production and what should be dropped from the schedule.

The 4400 wasn't left open ended. The series finale at the end of season 4 wrapped things up pretty well. Honestly, they should have ended it with the season 3 finale instead of making a mediocre 4th season.

I'm not a fan of the Dead Zone. I'm glad it's gone.

Because our TV network people are STUPID!

I'm always frustrated too, with when new shows come and go and I can't find them either!
