My deepest sympathy to you and your son. My sister lost her husband of 28 years just about 8 months ago. Left her with two teenage boys to raise alone, so I have an idea of the many emotions you are going through. First, get on your knees and pray to God for your answers, and seek help from any of the Social Security offices you can. My prayers will be with you and your son. God Bless

I'm so sorry for your loss. You need to get in touch with a social worker who can help you find a day care program for autistic children, so you can work to support yourself and the child. Working at home will require lots of concentration which you might not be able to have with the child there all day long. You need to come up with a plan and quickly if you don't have much money.

So sorry for your loss. Does your son get Social Security Benifits if not try getting that. There has to be something out there that helps you stay at home and take care of your child.

OH my goodness -my sympathies on the loss of your husband. Do you have your child enrolled in early intervention -they will have information on respite care for you. You didn't way how old your son was but it would be a good starting place - some places call it Help Me Grow - call your local social services for a phone number of someone to help you with care for your son

my sympathies go to you .
accept my condolences.
practical help is what you need.
you can get social help with your autistic son.
if you are taking full time care of child , home base job will suit you perfectly.
also try some activities that will take you out of house and meet other people and socialise.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
I think every community has some kind of program for special needs, or a home type situation-I would check with social services.

My heart goes out to you for your loss. Contact Social Security as soon as possible. You are entitled to widow's benefits and if your son has been classified disabled, he may qualify for benefits.

Your school system should be able to offer some suggestions for care programs available if you need to work.

The Autism Society of America may also be able to offer some resources.

I'm confused.....I took a tour through your past questions and it looks like two days ago you posted a question that said "I just got a kid" and he's autistic. Whats up with you? My son's autistic and it's a nightmare but you don't say stupid things like this.............

My deepest sympathies on your loss. It must be a very difficult time for you. Please contact the social security administration. You and your son are both eligible for survivor benefits, and your son should be qualified to receive some benefits from your community mental health agency. Good luck to you both.
