of course we allllllll are dissapointed with the music of today. But then there isn't the talent available today that we had years ago. We had real musicians then that studied years at their craft. Today garbage is from highly uneducated people. They have computers that perform the instruments for them. They had no training whatsoever in the art of music and harmony and writing. The music labels just pump it out hopeing that the kids today that don't know any better will buy it. And they do because they have nothing to compare it to. If the morons would not buy it then the industry would fall flat on their face and be forced to demand better music from the self proclaimed artists. But, we know that won't happen so we are destined for failure to ever get real music ever again. It's a shame, but we bring it all on ourselves, like so many other things in life. I guess we deserve the crap we get. I too, am ashamed of the music industry and do consider them to me money hungry terrorists pollutting are airways for profit and could give a **** about talent. It's all about the money baby!
Forget morals..we're all headed down just as fast as we can go.

Another good question. The thing is you have artists and business people. If you want to make it in the music biz these days, you have to be a bit of both. Also, if you want mass distribution, the price you will usually pay [aside from razor thin points and loss of publishing rights] is lack of "creative control" over your product. That means some studio exec who doesn't even relate to your music will ultimately decide what is appropriate for your fan base.
Thanks to the Internet, this model is starting to topple. Many artists have started distributing their own material. The audience is much smaller, but the margins are much larger and they have complete control over their product.
One of the MANY reasons I love technology.

I feel as though its a combination of Artistic talent and the greed of the producers to make some cash. Some of the artist have went to the well of inspiration & found it bone dry. The Producers may bring along some ghost talent or use that crap that wasn't even good enough for the "B" sides .... more like "F" sides ... and with bills coming due they Hype themselves into thinking "This'll sell well"

Of course they should, but there are so many other things that go into the reasons why artist put out albums that I understand that it does not always work out like that.

I would say the quality payed better. Id say 50/50, some people wanna listen the main stream "quantity" stuff, others actually wanna listen to something they can relate to or that has a message(quality).

In general, I think the music industry needs to be less concerned about how attractive the artist is, or what fashion's they wear, and focus on and sell music that is good.

I liked no more drama, though, but saying that Mary rarely does wrong in my eyes.
