Europe , nudity and sexuality?

Question

Why does it seem that Europeans are not so hypersexual
about the body? Here in the US a woman can be
thrown in jail if you see her breast, and we are in a
breastfeeding war it seems like, women actually have
to FIGHT to nurse in public.

Europe is not even like that.

They also seem less Porn obsessed, less hyper-sexual.

Anyone from/in Europe want to elaborate as to why?

I also read something that married couples many European countries have more sex than american couples, i think overall they have a healthier non-pornified view of sex and the body.

I think the attitude towards sports has the key. In US football, from early age the boys are presumed to be the best on their team, whereas the girls can get the same status by cheering for them. Especially High School will stress that, just remember who are chosen as homecoming couple.

In Europe boys and girls will both be stimulated to play football, and in fact its very common to see mixed teams playing competitions, only in puberty both groups decided it feels better to have their own team (and thus get seperate competitions, but right up to the world championships for women as well).

So without judging I would say that 'your' ideal stresses opposites, and 'ours' stresses unity. Both can work, but I would think here girls get more credit for 'real' achievements (for instance at jobs), and guys do house works when needed and can live to tell that to their male friends.

Now sexuality - again no judgement, just what I see - comes from a different corner, and thats religion. In europe, we don't make a big deal out of it, in the sense that 'moderate' believers will have no problems with sleeping together as an extension of a date, for instance. So same as for drugs or beer, here I will advise my 15 year old son to have a beer to try things out, or to be responsible and use protection if needed when the time comes. In that way, it will never come to be the myth that Americans are making of it.

Because as for Americans moral is still comes from the bible, such behaviour can only be condemned in public, and the worst consequences is not teenage drums or pregnancy, but a whole young generation that thinks that something considered sooo big an offense is bound to be the greatest thing one can experience on earth. So its chasing the myth really that leads to strange behaviour.

Now funny enough you can get us back on a simple other field, and thats 'Americanism' for us europeans, because in that we are just as hypocrit as you with sex. We long for the US from early age, gaze at your models and actresses, and discards any bad news about racial imperfections or poverty, because it ruins our dream that somewhere things are great for everybody. And ofcourse you will no better. The question itself prove that among us there are people who think deeper and are open to learn.

It does seem a bit hypocritical, when everywhere you turn Female Body parts are all over the place, in News print, Television Ads etc... I'm an American But it is a left over from The Victorian Era of England... and the Mindset comes directly From the Medical Community.

You should check The History Channel's information list... on Sex in History...some were really randy and that included the Puritans!

I think because government in the uS is dominated by the religious right, who tend to be puritanical.

If you watch American tv, you can see all the violence you want all day long, but no naked bodies.
In Europe you can see naked bodies, but not much violence except after 9pm when the children are supposed to be in bed.

Europeans prefer sex. Americans prefer violence.

In East German culture it is acceptable for both sexes to be in a sauna at the same time. It's also acceptable for both sexes to be topless (I think in E. Germany even naked) on a beach. As naked human body is quite an ordinary thing there, there is no "forbidden fruit" factor. Oh, German porn is well-known over there.

nerve-racking? why? once you spot bare females that's no longer nerve-racking?...... europe is extra happy with the male bare bodies too, we are compared to american videos who JUSTT prefer to promote PORN!!! that's a remember of high quality, no longer volume
