For me, since I have a good relationship with my doctors, (family practice and a ob/gyn). I do what they suggest. However, I do my own research on any problems I may have. But, if I didn't think that my well being were in their best interest, I would not hesitate to get second opinions. So far though, with my doctors, everything they have said makes sense, and is backed up with well thought out research.

Usually if I am not happy with the 1st opinion then I definitely get the second, then pick one.

If I like the advice, just one, if I don't like it, I will get a second opinion. Seems logical, eh ?

At the very least, 3. All doctors don't know everything about you.
