My Vaillant Ecomax 824E Boiler has gone on the blink: no hot water or heating!!!!!!!!!

Help!

The fault code F05 is flashing on the screen!

What do I need to do to solve the problem myself!

Please don't advise me to ring up someone to help - I don't have the money. (it is outside of the 7 year free service and maintenance period)

Cheers.

the manual says f05 means 'interruption of DHW heat exchanger NTC (NTC3)'

possible causes: 1. loose wire/poor connection to NTC3
2. defective NTC - replace NTC3

help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read the manual.
There's a good chance that the manual is stored
inside the service cover of your boiler.
Find out what "F05" means.
If you're lucky, it could be a simple as 'low water`
or 'pilot light out`.
If not, a service call may be your only option.
Trying to fix advanced problems is not a DIY
project. There can be a lot of stored energy
involved and mistakes can be dangerous.

Is there a booklet for the boiler? Many times the installer leaves it near the system. If so, look up the code and it will give you the reason for it, and maybe something to try. If you can't find the booklet, try looking up the manufacturer and calling them for explanation of the problem. That's the best I can do, I'm not familiar with your boiler. I wish you the best.

I work for a HVAC company and unfortunatly it is illegal for me to give you advise on how to fix this situation yourself. If you were to blow your house up, it would be my fault for giveing you advise. I realze that you dont have the funds right now, but many heating companies have payment plans. It is safer and more efficient. Please be safe about this, your life could be in danger if you dont know what you are doing when trying to repair it. I can however tell you that chances are if it is leaking, you will need to replace it. Good luck.
