Sweetie, the first thing you should do is go to the doctor and take a pregnancy test. Sex does not postpone your period unless you're pregnant, although sometimes stress can cause you to have your period late or not at all, especially when you're a teenager. How long has it been since your missed period?

It's very important when you use a condom that if it comes off, you put on a new one. Never put the old condom back on after it comes off because you can put it on backwards, or even if you put it on the right way, it's easy for pre-ejaculate to leak. Sperm does not die when it contacts air, so it's very possible to get pregnant by re-using a condom.

You might also want to think about getting on birth control of some sort. That way, even if the condom breaks or slips, you'll still be covered.

Wow what a scare. Yes, it is true sperm does die but it honestly depends on how long it was exposed to air. How long has it been since your last period and what age did you start your period? I started when I was 14 and my cycle was not regular for the first year and a half. You might just have an un regular period. My advice to you both is buy more protection and NEVER reuse. My advice to you would be to get on birth control if you plan on having more sex (some states your parents don't have to know you're on it) and buy a calender and keep track of your period put X's on the days you having your period. Definitely buy a pregnancy test (they're not to expensive) and GET CHECKED out by your doc. Don't worry doctors usually don't tell parents if you ask them not to and the only way they'd tell is if you are in any type of danger. And then your parents should now about it. I hope I helped.

First rule is never re-use a condom. Throw it away and get a new one. Safer all the way around.

Second, sperm do die in the air, but not right away. Some can actually live for a bit outside of the body, but I don't know how long. Might have been long enough, though. I'm sorry to tell you this, but it's true.

Third, I have never heard that having sex postponed your period. Mine always came normally regardless.

Fourth, what MIGHT be happening is that you're so afraid that you're going to turn up pregnant that you're subconsciously telling your body to think it's pregnant. THAT can delay your period a bit. What you need to do is calm down and keep telling yourself that you're not pregnant over and over again. Convince yourself of it and sooner or later, (IF you're not pregnant), your period will start up again. I KNOW this can happen because I did it to myself once. For FOUR months I thought I was pregnant. I wanted a baby so much I thought I was, even though all of the pregnancy tests came back negative. I didn't have a period for that entire time. It took going to a doctor for me to understand that I really wasn't pregnant and for my periods to start again.

FIFTH, please go get on birth control if you aren't pregnant. Relying only on condoms isn't a very good idea. They DO break, slip off or spill while being taken off. Accidents happen, but with the pill you'll have a greater chance of avoiding pregnancy until you're ready and YOU will have the control. And yes, at 15 you can get them on your own right now....until Bush gets the bill through that takes away birth control and starts preaching abstinence....which doesn't help people who are already sexually active. Anyway, the gist of it is, get the pill, use a fresh condom every time and calm down so you can get your body's hormones back in control.

If you can, please talk to an adult, maybe female, who can help you with all of this. Finding help like that is essential to help you prevent future accidents. Maybe your mom? Your aunt or counselor?

Good luck.

It takes a while for sperm to die, air can kill it eventually like make it dry out. But theres always a chance that something can happen when you take off a condom.
As for your period, you can't always predict when its going to show up. Unless you take birth control, which I do. I can narrow it down to the day I'm going to start.
I know you are scared but you should get a pregnancy test, also have your mom or a friend take you to a gynecologist, or a planned parenthood. Don't worry about money there, they will give you 6 months of birth control pills for free. Why? because you are a minor with no health insurance, most places like that rely on donations. All they ask is that you come in once every 6 months for a check up...again its free and it will give you a 99.9% chance that you will not get pregnant and it will give you a better way to track your next period.
Best of luck to you!

Sweetheart, you need to calm down and think about this. First of all the two of you should never "reuse" a condom!! Air touching sperm does not make it vanish and who ever told you that should be slapped in the mouth really hard. That is cruel and a lie!! Having sex does not post-pone your period. You need to sit down and determine when you normally have your period and decide if it is time for you to be having your period now. All of this stress and worrying will screw up your periods. I would strongly recommend that you either 1) go sit down and have a heart to heart talk with your Mom and tell her you want to be put on birth control or 2) go to the doctor and have a check up and make sure you are not pregnant and talk to he/she about this situation and get their input about birth control. You and your boyfriend have taken a big step and made a big decision, now you must move on and make even more adult decisions. They will not always be easy, but you can chose the right ones that will be good for both of you. Good luck and God Bless!!!

I really think you should take a pregnancy test! First of all, you should never use a condom twice, because then the posibility of the protection protecting you might not protect you anymore. you have put yourself in a dangerous situation by doing this, so please honey, do a test and be sure. At least than you know for sure and then you can plan from there onward what to do. Sex doesn't postpone your perion, but fertilisation does. Not having a period is one of the most obvios signs of pregnancy so check it out. however, if you are not pregnant there could also be other reasons why you're not getting your period ,for example extensive weight loss could cause this. I hope you and your bf are able to work this out together if you are pregnant and I wish you all the best. good luck!

First off, don't have sex again. Everything you just described indicates you two are in no position to be having sex.

You don't take a condom off and put it back on. Condoms are one time use things. Once it's off, throw it out and get a new one.

Sperm does not die with exposed to air. It begins to die but sperm can live outside the body for a period of time.

Sex does not postpone your period.

Lastly, please please please talk to an educator or a parent about sex, sexually transmitted diseases, safe sex practices, etc. You are in desperate need of sex ed.

Taking a condom off and putting it back on is NEVER a good idea. If you are late, get a test (or go to a clinic, which is likely free) to find out for sure. No, it is not true that the sperm will die once they hit air...get a test.

Lots of things can postpone your period, like being stressed out about possibly being pregnant (sex itself won't cause it to come later though, just the emotions that can come along with it). Air doesn't make sperm disappear but it kills it (not instantly, it takes a few minutes). If he put it on backwards you should still be alright, but you possibly lost spermicide (which also kills sperm) and lubricant (which makes sex more pleasant).

1. Never reuse a condom. That includes taking it off and putting it back on.
2. Is your period late? Take a pregnancy test. Sex does not make your period come late.
3. When a condom touches air, sperm is NOT gone.

It's possible that you're so nervous about this that your period won't come. But take a pregnancy test because if you've had sex, it is possible that you are pregnant.
