Actually, our southern border has been "open" for far longer than that. Even though there have been numerous allegations of Arabic-speaking people learning Spanish to "blend into" Mexican culture for disguise, I don't know of any confirmed cases involving suspected terrorists crossing over (or at least attempting to cross over) to plan attacks on US soil.

The southern border has been 'open' for the past 6 years, since the 9/11 attacks.

We also had a pre-9/11 alliance with Saudi Arabia. It should have ended on 9/12/01. But financial ties are more important than fighting terrorism to our current Administration.

'…….. moves by counterterrorism officials to act against the Saudis were repeatedly rebuffed by senior staff at the State Department and elsewhere who felt that other foreign policy interests outweighed fighting terrorism.'

Even with 3 out of the 6 in the Fort Dix incident this past summer having crossed over illegally from the Texas border, there still is no movement on the spending that was approved! It's just mind bogglling how they would rather play politics in DC instead.

properly, needless to say the hype that terrorists will swarm into usa gien a huge gamble is organic BS. they have the aptitude--the Londonand Madrid bombings prepare that. And, as you assert, our southern border remains extensive open, so ther's not something to cease them. seem on the checklist--and the data. >Unethical companies are making billions in earnings off the unlawful status of the immigrants--through paying sub-minimum wages, not paying legally required reward, and/or through pocketing taxes colleted from workers. those companies have been magor individuals to the GOP >the GOP ran Congress for 12 years on an identical time as this mess grew to the factor we've 12 million illegals in this us of a >the final-wing interior the GOP blocked a bipartisan reform kit previously this twelve months. i could say that fantastically plenty says all of it--yet enable's positioned it at the same time besides: the two the terrorist probability isjust hype, or we've been very fortunate--yet the two way, its the final-wing Republicans who're accountable for our southern border not being guard. and that they--and no person else--are accountable for the 12 million illegals.

If you are writing about the US, the southern border has been open for 230 years.
It appears that the President and Congress are not willing to secure the border and stop the illegal immigration. My only guess is that lobbyists with money have gotten to Congress. The President appears to be just misguided on this issue.

Our southern border has been "open" since the US and Mexico have shared a border, not just for 6 years.

I've been saying this all along. Yes, our airports are more secure. Sure, so are our buildings...but what good is locking the front door and closing the front windows when you leave the back door and windows wide open? Wish they'd do something about this.

Unfortunantly Bush is more into spending billions on a war where our men and women should not be in the first place and leaving us wide open.

I think it's more a case of this country NOT wanting/needing ILLEGALS coming to our country....If they want to be here, then do it the right/legal way!
