Accordingly, there are very few college degrees among Scientologists. Cruise and Travolta are both high school dropouts. Obviously, Kirstie Alley and Julliette Lewis are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. Is this true across the board?

I appreciate the feedback and the second phase of my question, is it easier to fathom the intracacies of Scientology without formal education conditioning. If anybody is still reading this far, perhaps the first point is not true, which of course renders the second moot. Again, thanks for the feedback, and Happy Holidays to all! During this holy season for many of us, let us reflect that all of our religions teach love and peace!

Level of education is irrelevant. Stupidity exists across all grade levels. I have a PhD and have witnessed others being incredible stupid in their actions. Scientology's members are no different. The role of education is a farce in may cases. For example as a college prof I was sent a Scientology video on Psychiatry which was very informative, but misleading in many ways. examples and comparisons - they claim that psychiatry has never cured anyone. Severe mental illnesses are like cancer, has anyone ever been cured of cancer - no they are considered in remission. So oncologists are the same as psychiatrists?

Further they use their 'education' to suggest that historical practices define psychiatry as barbaric. Well, Physicians used leeches.

Achieved educational levels are often irrelevant as in this case. Stupidity is rampant across many levels of people - race, religion, education, income, IQ, etc.

Wow. Not at all from what Ive seen. That might be true of the hollywood crowd in general but not the scientology crowd.

Im an ex-scientologist and the ones I saw were very commited to higher education. I can remember a number of them having degrees. They people taking the courses were usually college students so Im guessing that blows the "no highschool diploma" thing. In fact, all of the scientology centers that I know of were near colleges, universities, or military bases which means they were specifically aimed at getting people who were going past high school.

Even if it isn't true, the behaviour of people like Cruise and the drivel that comes out of Travolta's mouth tells me they won't be able to substitute it with the cult of Scientology.
It's just another faux-intellectual pseudo religion.

The educations they got on the movie set are worth far more than a high school diploma.
