It could be your diet. If you're doing anything extreme with your eating habits, it can mess up your cycles. Anorexics and bulimics often loose their ability to have a period, as their bodies can't spare the nutrients that go towards enriching the uterine lining to possibly support a fetus.
It could be stress also. If you've been really freaked over something, it's hard on your body. Your body will preserve energy by forgoing the menstral cycle if you are constantly worried about something.
If you're young, your cycle is still in flux. It is not unusual for you to miss a few periods.
If you're really concerned, go see a doctor.

Well, since you say that you are not pregnant, I would guess either stress or ovarian cysts.
Stress or rather, excessive stress can cause people to have extremely irregular periods. And on occasion, it can cause people not to have it at all.
Also, if you have ovarian cysts, those suckers can make your body do just about anything. I have them and they are crazy.
If you have always had irregular periods or perhaps heavy periods, there is a good chance of the ovarian cysts being present.
I would go to a OB/GYN and see what they suggest you do and see what they think.
Good luck!

Trust me, I am NOT pregnant either. I do, however take Birth Control Pills and I haven't had a period since November of 2006.
I just went to the OB/GYN yesterday and he told me there is no problem and that it affects some women differently than others. Oh...and to consider myself lucky! :)

you could be under a lot of stress. my sis had the same exact problem and the doctor put her on birth control to help bring about her period. go to the doctor to make sure its not something more serious.

depends on your age, how much you eat, etc. if you're old (which i dont think you are), menopause could be a factor. if you've recently stopped eating or started extreme dieting, you could stop your period. if you're on birth control, your period could've completely stopped. or if you've been under extreme amounts of stress, you could have just skipped a couple. if none of those pertain to you, ask your doctor.
