Of course it's much less than it used to be but now a days you don't know if the woman is going to get all offended because she is a feminist.

But I do wish it would happen more often, I have guys let the door go behind them and it nearly slams me while I'm holding my baby, a diaper bag and holding my son's hand (it's almost always a younger guy). I used stand on the train 7 months pregnant commuting to work and do you believe that not one man would offer me a seat, I was freakin pregnant for God's sake!

It's funny because if I'm out and I have my kids with me and I see an old lady trying to get something from the top shelf or is putting heavy things in her car I certainly stop and help her out. I think we should as fellow citizens care about one another.

I think women just got men confused with their feminist demands and also I think parents don't take the time or don't have the time to teach their sons a few things about being a gentleman. It's a shame.

My husband's chivalrous, but he does it more when we go on a date, he kind of gets into his charming guy mode.

There are a few guys out there who are still very mannerly and polite to women. My boyfriend is very kind and will always open the door for me--and others who may be going in the building at the same time--and lets me get in line before him most times. However, I feel that for the most part, guys have forgotten or have never learned how to be chivalrous, which is very sad. It always makes me feel good if a man (even a stranger) holds a door open for me.

Not with my husband it isn't-he is very good about opening my door, coming to the back gate when I arrive home to help carry things into the house, just alot of things that I think are outstanding in a man. My cousin is married to man who stands up whenever a woman/lady enters the room at family functions. I do love my husband and his sweet ways.

A maximum decisive and resounding NO! Chivalry isn't lifeless, inspite of the undeniable fact that it has regularly fallen via the wayside as a results of fact human beings do no longer understand what to do with it while it fairly is presented. Gallantry is now unsuitable for creepiness.

no, there are always guys that go out of their way to hold the door open for you, even when you are far enough behind then that they didn't need to, and i have guy friends that always insist on letting me go through the door first, even if i hold it open for them. chivalry isn't completely dead, and the smart guys keep it alive cus they get the girls (unless they are obnoxious about it and treat you like you COULDN't do certain things for yourself, even if you wanted to).

My father always said, "Chivalry is NOT dead!!" When I lived in NYC, absolutely it seemed like it was dead. There are a lot of jerks up there. But now that I live in the South, you see it everywhere! And it's so refreshing. I think it all depends where you are in the country or in the world.

It's dead OK, at least here in Plymouth it is! We have so many yobs and chavs here the 'good guys' don't stand a chance. Having said that, women are to blame a lot for the way things are too. They wanted equality, well, they've got it! I am not a fan of womens' lib groups, I prefer to be treated with respect.

True ladies appreciate the niceties, but there are too few gentlemen left. Keep doing what you're doing, maybe a few of the cavemen will learn something....
