Whoa.
I'm glad you're writing perscriptions for animals and not people.

I do have the day off (and eve too). I am lucky-I work in a field that is off on holidays. My mom is a nurse and my dad just retired from law enforcement so I can recall Christmases were they had to work. I understood that-not everyone can be off some people have to keep us safe and healthy:) We always just worked around it and it was ok. Maybe that is why I have always loved the season so much since we didn't always get to do the big Christmas stuff on Christmas day.

Yes, in my current job I have Christmas Day off. Whoopie! But for years I worked jobs where Christmas Day needed to be staffed. I've worked as an Ambulance Driver and for City Governments. Since I have no children I normally volunteered to work holidays even when I was scheduled off so that persons with families could be off. Seemed the right thing to do. Someone's got to do the duty, as it were! My salute goes out to those working on Christmas, especially to those in military service in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere around the world. Thanks!

I'm a School Caretaker and I have to visit the school and make sure that its not damaged, flooded and the Heating system is working!
So its a short visit, but we have a Gym and I shall walk a mile or two, cycle and row for an hour and then go home. I'm also on call for Security Call outs and thats over a 48 hour period.
My headteacher gave me a box of Chocs today...One was ever so touched.

Yes and no. Technically I work from home and can set my own hours, but it's also a 7 day a week job. So I'll still "work" for about 15 minutes on Christmas Day.

nicely, around right here the sole Christian holiday we get off, IS Christmas. we don't ever get Easter Sunday, or Ash Wednesday or (achieving right here) Halloween, St. Patrick's day, St. Valentine's day etc... and a great style of retail places ARE open on Christmas day. you need to evaluate too, that OVER seventy 5% of human beings become attentive to themselves as Christian.

Even when I had a real job, I never had to work on Christmas Day. Or even on Christmas Eve. Right now, though, I have every day off.

Christmas Eve day (the 24th) & Christmas day (the 25th) are both off days for me, but we're only given Holiday pay for the 25th. So for the 24th, I always use a Vacation day to get my full 40 hours in for the week.

My husband and I own our own business (a restaurant). We're closed on Christmas, but we go in every year to make one order for the Juvenile Corrections Facility so their kitchen staff can have the day off (to feed about 50 people).
